Do you want to play a key role in helping people across Doncaster access practical mental health, wellbeing, and financial support when they need it most? We are seeking a compassionate, proactive Project Service Coach to join our Mind & Money Matters service – an early support project designed to help people experiencing financial hardship, emotional strain, and emerging mental health difficulties before challenges escalate into crisis.

About The Role

You will deliver brief, focused interventions (typically 1–3 sessions) supporting people experiencing financial distress, emotional strain linked to poverty, social isolation, or emerging mental health concerns. Working across Doncaster foodbanks and community settings, you will provide:

  • Emotional support and stabilisation
  • Practical problem solving and support planning
  • Trauma-informed, person-centred interventions
  • Strengths-based coaching conversations
  • Clear onward navigation using a “no wrong door” approach
  • Support to help people build confidence, resilience, and stability

You will work as part of a stepped support model alongside the Project Lead and wider Doncaster Mind team, contributing to triage, assessment, and decisions around the most appropriate level of support. The role aims to help people access support earlier and reduce unnecessary escalation into crisis services.

Alongside one-to-one support, you may also help deliver low-intensity group and prevention-based activities focused on:

  • Financial resilience and wellbeing
  • Managing stress and emotional wellbeing
  • Confidence and skills building
  • Coping strategies and self-management
  • Community connection and support

Partnership working is central to the role. You will work closely with internal Doncaster Mind services and external organisations including foodbanks, advice services, debt and benefits support providers, and wider community partners to ensure people receive joined-up, coordinated support.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands the impact of poverty, financial stress, and social pressures on mental health
  • Works confidently within a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
  • Can maintain clear boundaries while delivering compassionate support
  • Is confident making sound professional judgements and managing risk appropriately
  • Values dignity, inclusion, collaboration, and person-centred practice

Experience working within mental health, wellbeing, community support, housing, advice, VCSE, or related services would be beneficial.
