WE’RE HIRING! In the Spring of 2026, the iconic Lagoons swimming pools at THE DOME reopened after an extensive period of refurbishment. We are seeking an exceptional person to join our team to work as a Senior Lifeguard. The Lagoons forms part of the leisure offer at The Dome, Doncaster. An exciting series of interconnected swimming pools, outdoor wild water rapids and flumes and slides. It is beloved by young, old and those in between.
The programme will be across 7 days and will include swimming lessons, aquafit, birthday parties and SEND sessions as well as our well attended Big Splash sessions where all features are available.
To deliver the activities we have the following vacancies:
- Position: Senior Lifeguard x 1
- Salary: £28,379 per annum. Please note there is an enhancement of £0.50 per hour for shifts that are worked on Big Splash
- Hours: Average of 40 hours, worked across a three-week shift pattern which includes evenings and weekends
About the Roles: As a Senior Leisure Assistant, you will support the Duty Manager team in operating the pools and features, while remaining a key member of the lifeguard team. Through training and support this role provides for natural development to progress to one day be one of our most proficient Duty Managers. Our Lifeguards are dedicated to ensuring that both customers and colleagues enjoy their time while visiting The Dome pools and, on the flumes, and features in The Lagoons. Customer safety is our top priority, so this role requires exceptional attention to detail.
You will interact with guests and provide outstanding customer service. You will promote and organise poolside activities, creating memorable experiences for our customers while keeping their safety at the forefront of everything you do. You will be part of a fantastic team, but there will be times when you will need to supervise busy areas independently.
About you: You are an enthusiastic individual who can engage and connect with a diverse range of people. A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential for these positions and to succeed in this role, you must be a strong swimmer with excellent attention to detail, as you will be responsible for monitoring the pool during busy periods. If you do not have a previous lifeguard qualification, but are a keen swimmer, we would still love to hear from you as we deliver several courses throughout the year.
