Overview
An exciting opportunity to join the Housing & Independence Service as a Support Worker for supported accommodation. We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to support staff with our young people on their road to independence. The service focuses on helping care-experienced young people transition to living independently through the Key to Your Future Project and the Key to My Future preparation for independence programme.
The Housing & Independence service uses the Trust’s Psychological services to provide formulations prior to starting the programme and offers a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-based programme that young people work through with staff support. Once ready, they move into identified outreach accommodation as the next phase of the project.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- To have experience of working with young people, children in care and care leavers.
- To be a supportive and inspirational member of the support team.
- To have some experience of therapeutic approaches and a willingness to develop and use these in the service.
- To be an innovative and creative thinker who looks for opportunities to improve the offer to our young people.
