Overview
City of Doncaster Council is seeking motivated individuals to support staff with our young people on their road to independence. This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service records check at an enhanced level. Responsibilities
We are looking for individuals to support staff with our young people on their road to independence and to contribute to delivering the Housing & Independence service, including the \’Key to Your Future Project\’ and the related preparation for independence programme. The applicant will work with young people leaving care to help them develop practical tenancy and independent living skills. The work involves using the Trusts Psychological services to provide formulations and a dialectical behavioural therapy based programme, with staff support, and facilitating progression to outreach accommodation as the next phase of the project.
Qualifications
- To have experience of working with young people, children in care and care leavers.
- To be a supportive and inspirational member of the support team.
- To have some experience of therapeutic approaches and a willingness to develop then use of these in the service.
- To be an innovative and creative thinker who looks for opportunities to improve the offer to our young people.
