We are seeking an inspiring and motivated Team Leader for Sport and Uniformed Services to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a committed group of staff, delivering high-quality study programmes that support learners to achieve their full potential and progress into further education or employment. You will play a key leadership role in driving outstanding teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring a consistently high standard of provision. Working collaboratively across the College and with external partners, you will champion student success, support staff development and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive learning environment.
Term: Fixed Term up to 12 months (Maternity cover).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of teaching staff to deliver an outstanding student experience
- Monitor attendance, retention and progress data and drive appropriate interventions
- Manage performance, appraisals and professional development for staff
- Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with College policies
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance provision
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, including lesson observations and reviews
- Attend and contribute to performance, safeguarding and planning meetings
- Support marketing and promotional activities for the curriculum area
- Maintain effective communication across staff, assessors and stakeholders
Essential Criteria:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Sport or Uniformed Services
- Teaching/training qualification with further education experience (or willingness to achieve)
- Proven ability to motivate, develop and lead a team
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to monitor and improve performance
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
