Policing Lecturer in Scunthorpe

DN Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated Policing Lecturer to join our Sport & Uniformed Services team. In this role, you will deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment while supporting students to achieve their full potential in a positive, inclusive and dynamic environment. As a Policing Lecturer, you will teach across a range of further education programmes, ensuring learners receive an engaging and industry‑relevant experience. You will play a key role in guiding students’ progression, managing learning environments, and supporting high standards of behaviour and achievement. Actual Salary: £21,414.30 - £27,105.21 per annum

Working Pattern: Tuesday - Thursday - 22.5 hours per week

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one, or substantial industry experience.
• Subject expertise in policing or a related uniformed service.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification (Level 3 or above).
• Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English.
• Demonstrable industry experience within the policing or wider uniformed services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment across policing and uniformed services programmes.
• Prepare teaching materials, assess student work, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Support and motivate students, monitoring progress and addressing individual learning needs.
• Participate in recruitment, marketing activities, and liaison with external partners and the wider community.
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to quality assurance processes, and engage in continuous professional development.
• Act as a Progress Tutor when required and contribute to pastoral support, safeguarding, and positive student behaviour.
• Attend meetings, work collaboratively within curriculum teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
• Support enrichment activities, external visits, and wider departmental initiatives.
