We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Maths GCSE & Functional Skills Lecturer to join our English and Maths team here at North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe. You will deliver inspiring, high‑quality teaching to learners studying GCSE Maths and Functional Skills across a range of further education programmes.
Essential criteria
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Subject expertise in mathematics, with the ability to deliver GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths
- Experience of teaching or training learners within an FE or similar educational setting
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4–9 (A*–C) or equivalent
- Strong classroom management skills with a learner‑centred approach
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across GCSE Maths and Functional Skills provision
- Plan lessons, prepare learning materials and assess student work in line with awarding body requirements
- Support learners to achieve their individual learning goals through appropriate differentiation and intervention
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance activities and course team working
- Create an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment that promotes learner success
