We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional to join our dedicated team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to inspire and support learners, helping them develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in the animal management industry. You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of further education courses in both classroom and practical animal care settings. You will play a key role in supporting learner progress, achievement and overall experience. This is a full‑time position, working 35.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment sessions
- Supervise students in both classroom and practical animal care environments, promoting independence and safe working
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback and implement strategies to support achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development, including course materials and programme improvement
- Participate in recruitment activities, open events and community engagement to promote the provision
- Support the pastoral needs of learners, ensuring a positive, inclusive and student‑centred environment
- Maintain accurate records, including assessment tracking and individual learning plans
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement of programmes
Essential Criteria
- Significant industry experience in animal management (minimum 5 years)
- Relevant qualification in animal management (Level 3 or above) and subject expertise
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Experience of delivering or supporting teaching and learning in an education or training environment
- Strong communication, organisational skills and a commitment to delivering high standards for learners
