We are seeking a passionate and caring Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team at Kingsway Children’s Centre. In this rewarding role, you will support the day‑to‑day operation of the setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
Actual Salary: £12,636.28 per annum
Working Pattern: 18.5 hours per week / Monday, Tuesday 7.5 hours and Wednesday 3.5 hours with various shifts scheduled between 7:45am and 5:15pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for children at all times.
- Support children’s learning and development through engaging and stimulating activities aligned with EYFS.
- Act as a key person, planning and delivering age‑appropriate activities and monitoring children’s progress.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and external professionals to support individual needs.
- Carry out observations and maintain accurate developmental records in line with EYFS requirements.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional wellbeing.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with policies and Ofsted standards.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene and general care of children.
- Ensure play areas and equipment are safe, clean and fit for purpose.
Essential Criteria:
- Level 2 qualification in childcare (or working towards).
- Recent experience in a nursery or similar early years setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Aware of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
