Health & Social Care Lecturer - Higher Education

The vacancy

DN Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated and experiencedLecturer in Health & Social Careto join our Higher Education team. This role will primarily support the delivery of undergraduate programmes validated by Sheffield Hallam University, with a particular focus on Adult Nursing.

We are recruiting to two part-time vacancies (between 2.5- 3 days per week), days to be determined. The actual salary bracket: £16,660.04 - £26,063.24

We are looking to recruit two specialists with demonstratable experience and knowledge in 1) Adult Nursing 2) Social Care. We encourage applicants with a background in either of the above to apply for this post!

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality teaching, academic support, and curriculum development across a range of Health & Social Care programmes.
  • Contributing to quality assurance processes, student engagement, and collaborative development of innovative teaching approaches.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, programme documentation, and annual reporting
  • Engage with student feedback and continuous improvement activities
  • Liaise with external examiners and university partners
  • Support recruitment and promotional activities
  • Degree in relevant background. MSc/MA in a relevant subject is desirable
  • NMC registration (if you’re applying for the Nursing specialist post).
  • Minimum Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Extensive nursing or social care experience and recent CPD
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of academic standards
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one)
  • Experience in HE teaching and blended learning
  • Enrolment onto the Teachers Pension Scheme – 28.68% Employers contribution
  • 35 Bookable annual leave days (pro rata), bank holidays, and 2 weeks off at Christmas.
