The vacancy We are seeking a motivated and organised Technician to support our Hair & Beauty curriculum area. This is a hands‑on role where you will play a vital part in ensuring a high‑quality learning environment, supporting both staff and students in practical salon settings. Working alongside curriculum teams and the Group Head Technician, you will help maintain equipment, prepare resources, support lessons and contribute to an outstanding student experience. You will also play a role in promoting the department through events and supporting student recruitment activity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with salon experience who is passionate about education and supporting learners to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Hair & Beauty sessions by preparing and maintaining equipment, tools and materials.
- Carry out stock control, ordering supplies and maintaining accurate inventories.
- Ensure all equipment and specialist areas are safe, clean and well maintained, including completing safety inspections.
- Assist staff and students within the salon environment to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Support curriculum development initiatives and contribute to the overall student experience.
- Participate in open days, recruitment events and promotional activities for the department.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues relating to salons, equipment and resources.
- Uphold health & safety, safeguarding, and equality standards at all times.
Essential Criteria
- Maths and English at Level 2 (Grade 4/C) or above.
- Experience of working in a salon or commercial hair and/or beauty environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage resources and equipment effectively.
- Ability to communicate confidently with staff, students and customers at all levels.
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
