We are seeking a committed learner‑focused Functional Skills Assessor to support adults working towards Maths and English qualifications up to Level 2. This role plays a vital part in developing learners’ confidence, skills and progression, especially for those returning to education or balancing learning with work and family life.
Key Responsibilities- Assess learner work and progress in Functional Skills Maths and/or English up to Level 2
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and one‑to‑one support to help learners achieve
- Track learner attendance, progress and achievement in line with funding and quality frameworks
- Support the administration and quality assurance of Functional Skills delivery, including exam readiness
- Work collaboratively with tutors, curriculum leaders and support teams to promote positive learner outcomes
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
- Experience of assessing or supporting learners within adult education or FE
- Understanding of Functional Skills qualifications and assessment requirements
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with accurate record keeping
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive practice
