DN Colleges Group is seeking a proactive and highly organised Buildings Manager to play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient and welcoming environment across our campuses. You will lead our Maintenance and Caretaking teams, oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage contractors, and ensure our estate remains compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the day‑to‑day management of the Maintenance and Caretaking team, ensuring work is prioritised and completed to a high standard.
- Deliver an effective programme of planned maintenance across the estate.
- Ensure a responsive and efficient reactive maintenance service.
- Monitor contractor activity to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
- Maintain risk assessments, safe systems of work, and operational procedures.
- Monitor buildings and grounds, ensuring all areas meet required standards.
- Support long‑term maintenance planning and estate improvements.
- Ensure the estates team adhere to Health and Safety requirements and college policies.
- Act as a key holder and support college evacuation and security procedures when required.
Essential Criteria
- A Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in a building trade, electrical, or mechanical discipline.
- GCSE (or equivalent) Level 2 English and Maths.
- Previous experience working as a manager in estates, facilities, or a similar environment.
- Strong ability to supervise complex projects, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work flexibly in a live, fast‑paced environment.
