Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Further Education engineering programmes to ensure high retention, achievement and progression.
- Develop innovative and responsive delivery models aligned to local, regional and national skills needs.
- Work closely with employers and industry partners to shape curriculum content and learner work experience.
- Recruit, lead and develop a skilled team of lecturers and associates, promoting high standards and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, awarding bodies and funding requirements, including contribution to self-assessment and quality improvement planning.
- Manage departmental resources and budgets effectively, ensuring value for money.
- Contribute to wider college business planning and cross-college collaboration.
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in an engineering specialism (e.g., mechanical, electrical, motor vehicle, electrical installation, fabrication, welding).
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Level 5 teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Proven experience of leading and managing teams and performance.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and current Further Education priorities.
