Are you passionate about animal care and education? We are seeking a dedicated Animal Management Technician Instructor to join our Animal Management team. This is a hands-on role combining animal husbandry, student supervision, and instructional support to deliver an outstanding learning experience.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Animal Management Unit, supporting practical sessions, and ensuring high standards of welfare and safety. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment where your expertise will directly impact student development and success.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Animal Management
  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Experience working in an animal management environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate students in practical settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and support practical sessions within the Animal Management Unit
  • Deliver high standards of animal care in line with legislation and college policies
  • Lead on projects to improve the unit and expand species accommodation
  • Plan and implement schemes of learning in collaboration with tutors
  • Maintain stock levels and liaise with suppliers for procurement
  • Support promotional events and student recruitment activities
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain accurate records and support student assessment and progress
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends
