Salary: Grade 5, £25,584 (£20,743 for 30 hours) (pay award pending) plus an additional 8.5% all inclusive allowance for weekend and shift working

Our Support Workers play a key role in ensuring that our service users are given every opportunity to return to living in their own home by supporting and re-enabling them during their short stay at Positive Step.

Within this role you will support service users with their daily living needs including personal care, nutrition, social and emotional support in line with their individual care plans, facilitating stimulation and promoting independence. You will support individuals with accessing new activities, opportunities and leisure interests while staying on the unit.

You will implement and review person‑centred support plans and therapy plans in accordance with the unit’s good practice guide for care planning. You will have up‑to‑date knowledge of individual care by reading referral documentation, care plans and the unit’s communications systems and attending staff handovers daily.

You will need the ability to write clear, factual and accurate reports of individual care, monitoring forms and ensure that any area of concern is reported immediately to the duty Manager. All duties will be undertaken with due regard to the dignity and choice of the service users, ensuring that all personal care and discussions pertaining to individuals are done privately.

As required you will assist in domestic duties including basic cleaning schedules, the service users’ laundry and putting away clothing, bedding and towels. It is all employees’ responsibility for individual health and safety in the workplace, and to be aware of other staff, service users and visitors to the unit’s health and well‑being by adhering to the unit’s health and safety procedures.

The post is available on contract, working a rota pattern which covers seven days a week and includes weekends and Bank Holidays. The day and afternoon shifts run between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00. Flexibility is essential in all advertised roles.
