Location: Civic Office, Doncaster

Salary: Grade 6 – £26,403 to £27,255 (Pay award pending)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week

You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of Safer Communities Business Support Officer. You will be part of the Safer Communities Service within the Place Directorate, where you will play an important role in supporting community safety activity across Doncaster. The role provides high‑quality, professional and responsive business support to ensure community safety services operate effectively, compliantly, and consistently.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing high‑quality business and administrative support across the Safer Communities Service
  • Preparing agendas, coordinating meetings, and taking accurate, sensitive minutes for community safety boards and operational meetings (including virtual meetings)
  • Responding to enquiries from partners, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring a professional and timely service
  • Maintaining accurate records and datasets using Excel and case management systems, in line with data protection requirements
  • Supporting data collection, performance reporting, and statutory returns
  • Undertaking routine financial administration, including processing invoices, orders and service‑related transactions using Council financial systems
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism

The post holder should have experience of working in a busy office or business support environment, strong organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently to strict and competing deadlines. This role requires excellent minute‑taking skills, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
