What you will do

You will hold consultations (by phone, video or in person) with people applying for Work Capability Assessment (WCA) benefits. You will assess a wide range of conditions and impairments, using your clinical expertise to make fair, accurate decisions. Your verbal communication skills will be just as important as your ability to write high-quality reports using a specialised IT system. You will also work with your manager to keep developing your skills and career as a Functional Assessor.

What you will need

  • At least 12 months experience as a registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  • Full registration with one of these bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC)
