Responsibilities

  • Act as the Materials Controller to ensure material requirements to service scheduled demand are achieved to support delivery of the Group Corporate Plan.
  • Provide clear site direction to the main manufacturing operations, working with planning, production, procurement, design and logistics to implement effective materials processes and procedures.
  • Call-off stock materials aligning to predetermined stock levels.
  • Schedule materials in line with design take-off and production demands.
  • Raise and expedite purchase orders in line with material demands.
  • Ensure all stock transactions are captured and completed in real time by the end of each day.
  • Monitor, close and investigate production works orders and associated BOMs in the ERP system.
  • Produce and monitor department KPIs and present data in Excel to ensure performance, quality and productivity targets and supplier SLAs are met.
  • Optimize utilisation of MRP planning control systems to meet customer requirements and ensure zero stock outs.
  • Develop and implement data monitoring and measurement to ensure effective stock management and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Carry out regular cycle counts and quarterly stock takes, investigate differences and escalate appropriately.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external project teams to maximise KPI delivery within areas of responsibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement to current business processes.

Essential technical expertise

  • Experience in manufacturing or construction is preferable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate ability for budgetary planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Provide evidence of materials and stock control.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise workload.
  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.

What we offer

This full-time role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with potential for flexible working.
