What you will do
A bit about the role
Our Design Technicians are core to the operation of our business. A key member of our team, reporting to the Senior Design Technician, you’ll be responsible for designing timber frame superstructures for homes and buildings using architectural designs, specifications, and structural engineering guidance.
You’ll ensure accuracy of approved drawings, production designs for building components including walls, floors, and roofs. You’ll develop bills of materials for all structural and joinery components, steel fabrication, ensuring each design meets standards for programme compliance, quality, budget, health, and safety. You’ll be proactive in offering solutions to value engineer for our customers, working as part of a team to deliver great customer communication.
Qualifications and experience
You must have design experience in timber frame. You should have a good working knowledge of Consultec (or HSB CAD, Mitek Wood Engine, Wolf Horizon) and AutoCAD.
We’ll train you with your own growth plan so you’re ready for the next steps in your career.
If you have a passion for design, are happy to work on your own and as part of a team, you get on well with other people and are good at finding solutions, this could be the role for you.
You’ll also have excellent organisation skills, you can plan your working week, manage time, information, and reporting. You ideally have experience within the construction industry.
