We are looking for two basic CAD detail Draughtsmen.

As an experienced basic CAD detail Draughtsman/woman, you will collaborate with the Design Engineers to build functional, secure, and well-designed products that meet client requirements. You will be responsible for gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and setting up production methods.

The successful candidates will need to display the desire, drive, and determination to perform as part of a team. You will be given responsibility requiring you to organise your workload and be proactive. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exceptional experience.

Main activities & responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with Designers and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
  2. Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
  3. Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
  4. Create detailed drawings with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  5. Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
  6. Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
  7. Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  1. Approximately 5 – 10 years’ draughtsman/woman experience
  2. Experience of producing manufacturing detail drawings for belt conveyors and the associated support steelwork is essential
  3. Experience of producing manufacturing detail drawings for materials handling schemes for Ports, Power Stations, Mines & Quarries
  4. Experience of producing manufacturing detail drawings of plant and equipment to process, handle and store
  • Grain, Quarry products, Fertiliser, Coal, Iron Ore, Animal Feed etc.
  • IT knowledge, including Microsoft 365 Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects, AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and industry-specific software
  • Excellent communication skills and time management skills
  • Takes pride in their work and adopts a positive attitude to work
  • Ability to work in a small, cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
