Apprenticeship and Training: As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard. You will also achieve Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills), as well as a Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge).
The Successful Candidate will be working alongside experienced fitters assembling all types of rigid bodies and trailers. The apprenticeship will involve:
- Learning how to use hand and air tools
- Assisting in the assembly and fitting of mechanical components for trailers and rigid bodywork
- Learning to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Operating hand tools and workshop equipment safely
- Preparing materials and components for fitting processes
- Carrying out quality checks and reporting defects
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Completing off-the-job training and portfolio work as part of the apprenticeship program
Once the probation period is over, you will be placed on an NVQ training course to become a fully qualified fitter. We are invested in continuous career development throughout your employment, and a keen interest in engineering is crucial for this role. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.
Working Hours: Monday–Friday 07:30–16:30 (if under the age of 18) • Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00 (if over the age of 18)
