Introduction

Don Bur (Bodies & Trailers) Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for a Trailer Body Build Apprentice to join their company to assist in the assembly and fitting of bodies to trailers and rigid bodies.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Learn how to MIG weld steel up to 12mm thickness
  • Learn how to weld other materials such as stainless steel, alloys, etc.
  • Learn how to operate CNC lasers
  • Learn how to operate robotic welding machines
  • Become fully competent in the use of hand and air tools
  • Understand how to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings
  • Become capable of working to demanding deadlines
  • Complete off‑the‑job training and portfolio work as part of the apprenticeship programme
  • Training Outcome

Once the probation period is over you will be placed on an NVQ training course to become a fully qualified Fitter.

We are invested in continuous career development throughout your employment and a keen interest in engineering is crucial for this role.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications on completion of the apprenticeship: As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard, Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills), and a Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge).
