Domus are working with a highly reputable provider, looking for a Deputy Manager for a Residential service in Stockton, County Durham providing support for adults with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs. Weβre looking for someone with proven leadership skills and hands-on experience within the Learning Disability care and support sector. Ideally, we are looking for an established Deputy Manager or Team Manager but would certainly consider a highly experienced Senior Support Worker looking for a step up.
The provider offers care and support for vulnerable adults with a wide range of care and support needs across the country. They are real pioneers of the support sector, often venturing into niche support services to ensure every vulnerable person can get the support they need to live the quality of life they deserve. As one of the first providers of Learning Disability support in the UK, this group has played a pivotal role in the sector, and this is a great opportunity to join the group in a key leadership position.
Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:
- Support the Registered Manager with the running of the home and manage in their absence.
- Manage & supervise the preparation of Person-Centred Care Plans, Review & Assessments, implementing plans with the assistance of the care team.
- Provide leadership & advice to colleagues and undertake line management responsibilities.
- Promote and demonstrate a positive culture, addressing and managing behaviours that fall below expectation.
- Contribute to and have oversight of reviewing reports, records, and care plans to ensure they remain compliant with legal and organisational requirements.
- Manage systems and procedures effectively in a timely manner including colleague rotas and incident reporting.
- Assess and ensure the quality of care given is of a high standard by supporting the manager to implement processes.
- Identify and implement improvements within the service.
- Undertake direct care to the people we support as required.
Deputy Manager Requirements:
- (Ideally) a Level 3 in Adult Health and Social Care β willing to work towards a level 5
- Experience of working with people with autism, in a work environment
- Experience of supporting people with a Positive Behaviour Support approach
- Full, clean driving licence is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate with people we support, colleagues, professionals and families
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to write accurate reports
- Experience of the key worker role
- Ability to work as part of a team or work independently
- Able to provide personal care
- Able to work flexibly, stepping in to cover unsociable hours in times of crisis
- Accessible, approachable and comfortable with vulnerable people with complex needs.
