We’re seeking a Registered Manager to oversee a small, well-established respite service for adults with learning disabilities in the Shrewsbury area. This is a rewarding role where you’ll lead a dedicated team to provide short breaks that are safe, enjoyable, and person-centred.
Key Responsibilities of a Registered Manager
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the service
- Inspire and support staff to deliver high-quality, individualised care
- Liaise with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure seamless support
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements (including CQC standards)
- Manage budgets, staffing rotas, audits, and care planning effectively
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment where the people we support can thrive
Registered Manager Requirements
- A strong understanding of the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities
- Previous management experience within a care or support setting
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
- Confidence managing complex situations and resolving conflict sensitively
