An exceptional new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse with Service Manager experience in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear. We need a Care Home Manager for a large specialist Mental Health Home supporting vulnerable Adults and Elderly people. We are looking for a dedicated RMN/RGN/RNLD with an active Nursing Pin and experience leading care for specialist Mental Health services. The strongest candidates will have been previously Registered with CQC and managed large multidisciplinary staff teams. This is a great opportunity to lead a Mental Health Care Home and really make it your own. With different types of support needs spread across multiple units all on one site, no day will be the same. Key Responsibilities of a Specialist Care Home Manager:

  • Lead and direct the teams in person centered planning and support, ensuring that tailored support plans are completed, reviewed, and continuously developed to meet individual needs, wishes and outcomes.
  • Be able to write care policies tailored to the Mental Health care and support sector that are aligned with the provider’s core policies, mission statement, and CQC regulations.
  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to a multidisciplinary staff team.
  • Ensure teams actively support and promote the health and well-being of people we support and that current issues or changes in health, behavioral, emotional, psychological, or mental health needs are reported to the relevant professionals and support sought if necessary.
  • Lead and direct teams to facilitate and empower independence of people we support.
  • Take an active role in the development and growth of the Organisation, supporting the business development objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with the Organisational strategic aims and objectives.
  • Maintaining a good local market knowledge around Newcastle, Tyne and Wear to ensure that opportunities for the people supported are maximised and that the Organisation is aware of external changes that will affect the service(s) market position.
  • Be responsible for quality management and auditing of service delivery, maintaining accurate internal and external quality assurance records and completing any required improvement actions.

Key requirements of a Specialist Care Home Manager:

  • Experience of working in a Mental Health environment as a Service Manager, Registered Care Home Manager, Residential Home Manager, Hospital Manager.
  • 3+ years’ experience at a management level in Health and Social Care.
  • Hold a relevant Nursing Qualification and registered with NMC – RGN/RMN/RNLD.
  • The desire and ability to ensure that each person we support receives the care and support that is appropriate to their assessed individual needs.
  • An understanding of CQC assessment criteria.
  • Confidence in the business and finance aspects of running a residential service.
  • Experience in managing and developing a multidisciplinary staff team.
  • A good understanding of risk management and health and safety management.
  • Be self-motivated, organised, flexible, and caring.
