An established social care organisation is seeking an experienced Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Specialist Practitioner to work across the South of Scotland. This is a flexible role supporting the development and delivery of a whole-organisation Positive Behaviour Culture, with a strong focus on improving quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern. You will work closely with senior PBS leadership to coordinate strategy, support services, and evidence positive outcomes. The role involves regular travel across the region, with occasional travel elsewhere in Scotland, so a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of a Positive Behaviour Support culture
  • Carry out behavioural assessments within a PBS framework
  • Reduce the use of restrictive practices and interventions
  • Deliver training, workshops, and coaching to teams
  • Lead individual and team debriefs
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Contribute to organisational learning, research, and best practice

Requirements:

  • Level 5 PBS qualification (essential)
  • Willingness to work towards Level 6/7 PBS or ABA qualification
  • Minimum of one year's experience working within a PBS framework
  • Extensive experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who display behaviours of concern
  • Experience in behavioural assessment and intervention planning
  • Experience delivering training to adult learners
  • Strong written, verbal, and IT skills (Word, Excel; SharePoint desirable but not essential)
  • Knowledge of care standards and social care legislation
