Domus Recruitment are working closely with a charity who are looking for a Deputy Support Manager in Worcester. You will support adults with varying disabilities, such as Autism, Mental health, Cerebral palsy, and Learning disabilities, across 3 small supported living services under the guidance of the Registered Support Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone in leadership who is looking to progress their career with a great charitable organisation.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Support Manager:

  • Consistently embody Thera’s vision by supporting people to design their own support, increase control over their lives, and ensure their rights are upheld.
  • Work alongside the people we support to develop and implement support plans and documentation that lead to high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to the completion, accuracy, and regular review of support plans and risk assessments.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to concerns relating to health, wellbeing, safety, and safeguarding.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities while promoting best practice across all areas of support.
  • Promote and coach others in Person Centred Active Support, enabling skills development and an improved quality of life for the people supported.
  • Support effective rota delivery by deploying staff in line with individuals’ wishes, requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Where delegated, plan, prepare, facilitate, and record supervision meetings to support the personal and professional development of staff.
  • Identify learning and development needs for both yourself and your team, ensuring compliance with regulatory training requirements.

Deputy Support Manager Requirements:

  • Have previous experience in a management role (preferably in the learning disabilities sector) and be a strong staff manager.
  • Experience of managing at least 10 staff and handling performance issues/disciplinaries.
  • Strong IT and organisational ability.
  • NVQ Level 3 within Health and Social care.
  • A full driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
