About Us:

We’re Signable, a Bristol-based SaaS company that’s been helping businesses send, sign, and manage documents digitally since 2007. Today, thousands of teams across the UK and beyond trust our eSignature platform, including Aardman, Co-op, Octopus Energy, Krispy Kreme, and Regatta. We’re a values‑driven, people‑first team, and we’re proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work® for Tech, Women, and Wellbeing in 2025. With a 4.8/5 rating on Glassdoor, genuine flexibility, and a culture built on trust and belonging, we aim to be a place where people can grow and feel supported to do their best work. We’re building for a future where digital signing is always human, helpful and within reach. With ambitious plans for growth, we’re looking for people who want to create, collaborate, and make a real impact for our customers and our team.

About the Role:

Design plays a central role in how Signable builds and improves its product. As our sole product designer, you will operate as a senior individual contributor, with a strong emphasis on UX strategy, research and experience quality across multiple squads. This is a high ownership role at a pivotal stage of growth. You will be reporting directly into our Head of Product. Your focus will be on defining and elevating the end‑to‑end user experience, ensuring journeys are intuitive, efficient and commercially impactful. You will partner closely with product and engineering leads in a triad model, leading discovery, shaping problem definition and translating insight into shipped outcomes. A core part of the role is running user research, validating ideas early and using experimentation to de‑risk decisions before build. Beyond squad work, you will act as the UX practice lead for the organisation, embedding user‑centred thinking, championing accessibility and helping teams make better product decisions through evidence and clarity. This role has a lot of room for growth and progression too!

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead design within product squads
  • Work as an equal partner within a product triad alongside product managers and engineering leads
  • Own end‑to‑end UX and UI design across three product squads
  • Plan and run user research to inform problem definition and solution design
  • Create high‑quality interaction and visual design that is ready for engineering handover
  • Lead experimentation through rapid prototyping and iterative testing, using lightweight experiments to de‑risk decisions and validate ideas before build
  • Explore and define user experiences in the era of AI, proactively experimenting with emerging AI capabilities and shaping intuitive, trustworthy UX patterns as we introduce AI into the product for the first time.

Raise the bar for UX and Design across Signable:

  • Act as the UX and product design practice lead for Signable
  • Coach non‑designers in applying core design thinking and user‑centric practices
  • Improve consistency across the product through patterns, documentation and systems
  • Advocate for accessibility, usability and simplicity in everything we ship

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Significant experience in UX and product design within a SaaS environment, operating at a senior level.
  • Experience working in a growing product‑led company.
  • Experience partnering closely with product and engineering in a product triad model.
  • Demonstrable ownership of design systems, patterns or cross‑product consistency initiatives.
  • Experience planning and running qualitative and quantitative user research, and translating insights into measurable commercial outcomes.
  • A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and shaping product direction beyond a single squad.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma for product design, prototyping and design systems.
  • You embrace AI as a force multiplier, using it to enhance thinking, streamline workflows and deliver stronger outcomes.

And a massive bonus if:

  • You’re comfortable going one layer deeper into the tech stack, you understand how your designs will be built and the constraints and trade‑offs behind the scenes.
  • You have already delivered UX/UI for AI features within a product.
  • You have experience managing other designers or a clear ambition to do so in the future.

Please note: The qualifications and experiences above act as a loose guide to what we’re looking for. We’d still love to hear from you if you have more or less experience, so long as the core skills can be demonstrated.

Interview Timelines:

  • Application Deadline: Wednesday 18th March
  • 1st Stage Interviews: Monday 23rd – Thursday 26th March
  • Paid Take‑Home Project Stage (candidates are given a week window to work on the project, however we suggest spending around 3‑5 hours working on the project)
  • Final Stage Interviews – Tuesday 7th & Wednesday 8th April

Our Office:

Our office is based on Park Street – easily commutable from all over Bristol with links to various bus routes, and Temple Meads train station a 20‑minute walk away.
