About The Role

As Senior Finance Assistant at Lost Property, St.

Paul's, you will support the delivery of the hotel’s finance function, working closely with the Cluster Financial Controller.

This is a hands-on role where you will oversee key processes including purchase ledger, payroll support, revenue audits and balance sheet controls.

Acting in a supervisory capacity, you will guide junior team members and help ensure strong financial governance, accuracy and compliance across all finance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Purchase Ledger processes, including invoice posting, reconciliations and payment run.
  • Support payroll preparation, including reconciliations, payments and related controls.
  • Complete daily revenue audits and reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Perform daily financial reconciliations, including cash, card and petty cash.
  • Assist with accruals, prepayments and month-end processes to support accurate reporting.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of variances.
  • Support forecasting processes, including cash flow and monthly financial reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of management accounts and financial commentary.
  • Supervise and support junior finance team members, providing guidance and training.
  • Work closely with operational departments to resolve finance-related queries efficiently.
  • Key Skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of financial data accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills or above.
  • Good understanding of finance processes including purchase ledger, payroll and reconciliations.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, discreet and confident in handling sensitive financial information.

About You

  • Previous experience in a finance role within a hotel or similar environment.
  • Experience supporting or managing processes such as purchase ledger, payroll or revenue auditing.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with both finance and operational teams.
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Calm and professional when working to deadlines.
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory finance role within hospitality is advantageous.
