As a Shift Manager, you’ll take charge of store operations during your shift, ensuring everything runs smoothly in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager. You’ll be responsible for organising the team, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high operational standards. You’ll also play a key role in coaching and developing team members to help them reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise team members during designated shifts
- Open and close the store, manage shift changes, and complete shift reports
- Ensure all food preparation is completed to company standards
- Deliver fast, accurate, and outstanding service to customers
- Maintain product control and ensure correct volumes are prepared
- Ensure the store cleaning standards are maintained
- Complete statutory paperwork in line with Food Hygiene Regulations and company Health & Safety standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a busy, fast‑paced setting
- Supervisory experience in a food or retail environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Right to work relevant to store location

This role involves periods of standing, lifting, carrying, and reaching. You may also work in hot environments (near ovens) and cold environments (walk‑in fridges) and occasionally outdoors (e.g. refuse disposal, deliveries).
