Group Operations NPI Manufacturing and Quality Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a talented and driven Operations New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to contribute significantly to our team.

The ideal candidate should have a robust engineering background complemented by strong commercial acumen, excelling in project management and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of NPI projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations NPI activities supporting successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with design, product and operations teams to drive project completion.
  • Collaborate with production and supplier teams to implement best practice assembly and test processes.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring product cost targets are achieved and ensure customer value is core to operations network development.
  • Develop and manage delivery of PPAP requirements for new products.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and components during NPI lifecycle, ensuring assembly, test and data capture processes are robust.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to operations deliverables.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Generate regular progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and challenges.

About you

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.), including knowledge of CAD software, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Able to analyse data, understand technical specifications, and make data-driven decisions throughout the product development process.
  • Strong project management skill.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Customer focused, with an ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to different working environments and flexibility in handling varying project requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, quality control processes, and regulatory compliance related to product development.
  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Time management and efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience is essential.
