About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead to join our Operations team in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead site maintenance activities, managing engineering resources, stores, purchasing, and planned preventative maintenance programmes.

You will coordinate engineering work orders, support continuous improvement projects, and help maintain site engineering standards.

As a key member of the Engineering team, you will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activities by effectively planning, prioritising, and coordinating both internal and external engineering resources.

This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on improving equipment reliability, operational performance, and safety across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical
  • Lead preventative maintenance planning and support equipment reliability improvements.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to prioritise maintenance activities.
  • Manage critical equipment identification, inspection programmes, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and develop the site CMMS.
  • Analyse performance data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, budgets) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply Lean, Asset Care Excellence, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Standards & Development
  • Support engineering standards for the design, maintenance, inspection, and management of mechanical and electrical assets.
  • Ensure legal compliance while minimising lifecycle costs and supporting business objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and continuously improve engineering standards.
  • Maintain professional development through training, networking, and technical competence building.
  • People Management
  • Manage, coach, and develop the maintenance team.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and competency, working with HR where required.
  • Set, review, and improve team and individual KPIs.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and high housekeeping standards.
  • Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
  • Ensure compliance with site SHE standards, risk assessments, permit‑to‑work systems, and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Promote and maintain safe systems of work across all site activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in site safety performance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of key regulatory requirements, including ATEX/DSEAR, PSSR, PUWER, and LOLER.
  • Develop risk assessments and administer permit‑to‑work processes.

You will have proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment and a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering great outcomes for customers and colleagues.

A strong communicator and people leader, you will be able to influence stakeholders, motivate teams, and drive high performance in a fast‑paced environment.

Commercially aware, resilient, and adaptable, you will be confident managing competing priorities while leading change and supporting Domino’s Lean and continuous improvement journey.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in a process manufacturing environment, including maintenance, projects, chemical processes, and equipment selection
  • Good understanding of process safety management and maintenance best practices
  • Experience using CMMS and Permit to Work (PTW) systems
  • Proven leadership experience, including performance management and team development
  • Experience leading maintenance teams across multiple shift patterns
  • IOSH qualification desirable
  • Experience within a DSEAR‑regulated environment advantageous
  • Budget management and financial control experience advantageous
