We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Mounter, who will learn how to prepare and assemble precious metal components to create both bespoke and production jewellery. Working with experienced professionals, you'll gradually build skills in techniques such as soldering, laser welding, and polishing, while following technical drawings and working to high quality standards. This is a great opportunity to begin a career in jewellery manufacturing and gain experience with both traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies like CAD and 3D printing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed technical CAD drawings and product specifications to help produce jewellery that meets exacting standards.
  • Prepare components by de-spruing, buffing, and filing under the supervision of experienced colleagues.
  • Assemble multi-part mounts using flame and laser welding techniques to create seamless, high-quality joins.
  • Support daily production workflow and gradually take responsibility for meeting individual targets.
  • Review and assess 3D printed models and learn how to give feedback to support design development.
  • Use laser technology for resizing and repairs (training provided).
  • Polish and finish pieces to a high aesthetic standard.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment with well-kept tools and equipment.

Qualifications and Education

  • No prior jewellery experience required.
  • Experience working with your hands in any context is a plus (e.g. craft, model-making, DIY).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • A genuine interest in a long-term career in jewellery or manufacturing is essential.

Training will be provided: The trainee will learn through observation and practical application, working alongside experienced technicians.

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week, 07:15 am to 15:15 pm or 08:00 am to 16:00 pm.
  • 24 days per annum, plus 8 bank holidays (increasing incrementally by 1 day at 3, 6 & 9 years' service to a total of 27 days).
  • Holiday exchange – ability to buy or sell an additional 5 days holiday per year.
