The Print Systems Software group is looking for a new software product owner colleague! The team is circa 40 software professionals in the Research & Development department. We have developed our agile mindset over the last seven years and continue to improve our ways of working. Our responsibilities cover the design, implementation and testing of the software for all Domino coding and marking products whilst supporting and developing our existing products.

This role is an important part of our R&D Software team. You will help make sure our products and services meet customer needs and deliver real value. You act as the link between Product Management and the R&D Software development teams. The role is to support the product creation process and keep both groups aligned. Working with our software team, you work with Product Management to define product requirements. You then turn these requirements into agile user stories using a method that fits the team. You prioritise the features for implementation and define increment objectives in collaboration with Product Management and the development teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to deliver agreed business outcomes.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to identify customer use cases and capture requirements.
  • Create software requirements as agile user stories with clear and appropriate acceptance criteria.
  • Enable Scrum teams to engage early with product and milestone definitions and ensure they understand product backlog items.
  • Co‑develop and communicate the product goal.
  • Keep the product backlog healthy—well‑detailed, estimated, prioritised, transparent, and understood (DEEP).
  • Work with the Scrum Master, Development Manager, and team to co‑create forecasts and maintain the product roadmap.
  • Co‑create and facilitate sprint goals, planning and sprint reviews.
  • Participate in release activities with the Scrum team, including customer updates (e.g., dashboard notifications) and release/change notes.

We want to support you in being successful and proud of your achievements with us. We have listed some important attributes we’ll be looking for:

  • An analytical person who is self‑reliant, pro‑active with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • An energetic person with the ability to adapt.
  • Able to identify and manage risk.
  • Ability to prioritise and make decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively and establish good working relationships across internal departments and with customers.

There are other opportunities for you to get involved. These aren’t mandatory and you don’t have to have matching skills to apply.

  • Line management. We have a fluid line management system and mix and match skills and interests.
  • We have various initiatives across the business. You can be a Champion for Inclusion or Internal Communication. You can join a Centre of Excellence or one of many other opportunities.
  • You can get involved in improving job descriptions and interviewing potential new colleagues or help improve our onboarding experience.

As a talented individual working at Domino, you can expect a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, including:

  • 25 days of basic holiday, plus options to buy or sell additional days, ensuring you have ample time to relax and recharge.
  • A discretionary bonus scheme, a testament to your hard work and dedication.
  • Life insurance, providing security and peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
  • Medical insurance with the option of purchasing a health cash plan, dental insurance, travel insurance and cycle‑to‑work scheme, ensuring your health is always a top priority.
  • Join our green car scheme, a step towards a more environmentally friendly commute.
  • Pension plan, starting with 8% employer contributions.

We are a highly successful company, we’re large enough to offer career development opportunities yet small enough for your contribution to be readily recognised and rewarded.

In the Software Development team, we are responsible for design, implementation and testing of the software for all Domino coding and marking products. We continue supporting and developing our in‑field products as well. The software team constantly interacts with other engineering disciplines: mechanic, electronic, FPGA, image processing… to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers.

We know training and development is essential and we offer lots of opportunities to support development and your personal growth. We believe in self‑organised teamwork, encouraging close collaboration between engineers and empowering the teams to drive the development of the best possible products.
