Domino Clamps is a small, growing company with a unique engineering product that changes the way people reuse shipping containers. Our product range operates as a system of components that work together. The role is largely about understanding how parts can be combined, adapted, and improved to create practical solutions. This is not a full product design role, but there is scope to develop simple new products and make improvements to existing ones.

We sell online via our shop and directly to customers all over the world who have found us through our website and social media. Our customers are from various sectors including construction, events, engineering, and defence.

We are looking for a technically minded, practical, and organised individual to take ownership of our product range and how it is developed, documented, and used by customers. Our work is a mix of practical, physical, and computer-based tasks; you should be comfortable handling, testing, and assembling real products, not just working at a desk. This role sits between engineering, product, and operations. You will work hands-on with real products, improve and expand existing solutions, and ensure all product information is accurate and consistent across the business.

The role starts with a series of clearly defined product projects and is expected to grow into a broader operational position, taking responsibility for product processes, technical decision making, and internal coordination. You will be expected to take ownership of tasks and follow them through fully, rather than passing work between teams. You will be expected to make sensible decisions within your area of responsibility and take accountability for outcomes.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an engineering or manufacturing background who wants to move beyond pure technical work into product ownership and operations.

What you will be doing:

  • Testing and improving existing product kits and components
  • Introducing new product variants and ensuring they are implemented correctly across the business
  • Maintaining accurate product data across spreadsheets, internal systems, and the website
  • Updating technical documentation such as datasheets and PDFs
  • Coordinating updates with marketing and web teams to ensure product information is clear and consistent
  • Sourcing and evaluating alternative components where improvements can be made
  • Supporting customer enquiries that require technical product knowledge, including advising on product selection and how components can be combined or adapted to create effective solutions
  • Adapting existing product kits and configurations to suit specific customer requirements using standard components
  • Developing simple new components or product variations where improvements or opportunities are identified

Your work will involve a mix of hands-on testing, technical thinking, and coordination across different parts of the business.

Initial projects:

  • Upgrade and standardise a core component across the product range
  • Review and improve an existing product kit
  • Introduce a new product variant and ensure it is correctly implemented
  • Validate and expand a core product range, including new configurations

These projects are designed to give you a full understanding of how products flow through the business, from concept to customer.

About you:

You will likely have some of the following:

  • A background in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or a related practical field
  • Strong hands-on ability and confidence working with physical products and components
  • Experience building, assembling, or modifying things in a practical setting; for example, working with timber, steel, tube, or similar systems
  • A natural instinct for how things fit together and how they are used in the real world
  • A natural instinct for spotting problems or inefficiencies and finding practical ways to improve them
  • Strong attention to detail and a drive for accuracy and consistency
  • The ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly
  • Confidence taking ownership of tasks and following them through without constant direction

Useful but not essential:

  • Experience reading or working from technical drawings
  • Basic CAD experience
  • Basic experience editing images or PDFs
  • Experience in environments such as construction, events, fabrication, or hands-on project work

This role would suit someone who enjoys building and improving things, and solving problems whether professionally or in their own projects. You will work closely with a small team and will need to be comfortable operating independently while keeping others informed. You should be comfortable working in a small business environment where priorities can shift and you are expected to take initiative.

Role progression:

This role is designed to grow. As you build product knowledge and take ownership, you will take on increasing responsibility for:

  • Product related processes and decision making
  • Quality control standards and improvements
  • Stock and product consistency across the business
  • Supporting and improving internal workflows

This is a hands-on role with real ownership and the opportunity to have a direct impact on products used by customers around the world. There is a clear path for this role to develop into an Operations Manager position as the business grows.

Salary: £48,000 to £60,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience

Application: To apply, please include a short response (around 200 to 300 words) to the following: Describe something you have built, modified, or improved in a practical setting. What was the goal, and how did you approach it? Applications without this will not be considered. Please email your application to:
