Join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team dedicated to one mission: ensuring safe, reliable medical devices are always available to support high-quality patient care across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a service known for its innovative approach and hands-on clinical support.

You will play a key role in areas such as Trust-wide resuscitation trolley equipment provision, Equipment Library operations, and technical support within weekly respiratory clinic settings. Regular weekend working is part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspection and repair on a range of non-complex to moderately complex medical devices.
  • Perform routine fault-finding, using appropriate diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve issues.
  • Support the safe condemnation and disposal of medical devices.
  • Conduct acceptance testing for new and loaned equipment before clinical use.
  • Assist with the rollout of newly accepted devices into clinical areas.
  • Contribute to Trust-wide resuscitation equipment schemes to ensure readiness and compliance.

Qualifications

Level 4 qualification e.g. HNC/D in Electrical/Mechanical/Medical Engineering or equivalent. Candidates with the lower qualification would be taken on via Annex 21 in a training role to reach this minimum level.

Person Specification – Knowledge Requirements
  • Contribute to the Clinical Engineering services of MEMD including planned maintenance, repair, acceptance and condemnation.
  • Acceptance testing.

Experience
  • Experience of maintenance and repairs of a comprehensive range of complex and moderately complex medical electrical/electronic/mechanical devices.
Desirable
  • Experience working within Healthcare Environment.
  • Driving Licence.
