Role Summary
We are seeking a reliable and practical Caretaker / Maintenance Person to join our team at St Catherine's Dominican Convent, located on the Falls Road, Belfast. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach who takes pride in maintaining a safe and well-kept environment.
Key Responsibilities
- General building maintenance, upkeep, and minor repairs
- Grounds maintenance, including pathways, car park, and garden areas
- Carrying out health and safety checks (fire exits, emergency lighting, alarm testing)
- Furniture and equipment moves, room set-ups, and deliveries
- Liaising with external contractors and service providers
- Security checks and managing building access
- Waste management and recycling
- Winter maintenance, including gritting and clearing pathways
- Light painting, decorating, and general handyperson duties
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or similar role
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs
- Reliable, practical, and self-motivated
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Access NI Enhanced Disclosure (required prior to commencement)
Desirable Criteria
