Domin is looking for a mechanically-minded engineer who wants their work to matter beyond the CAD screen. As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will work directly with customer engineering teams to understand how their systems really operate and help them integrate Domin technology successfully. You will explore real applications, ask the right technical questions, and help shape solutions that allow customers to achieve performance they could not otherwise reach. You will lead mechanical and system-level discussions with customer engineers, helping them understand how Domin valves fit into their architecture and what is required for successful integration. Rather than simply answering questions, you will help define the right technical solution — balancing performance, integration complexity, and commercial reality. You will work closely with our Sales team on high‑value opportunities, supporting key OEM customers and helping Domin win strategically important programmes. At the same time, you will collaborate with our internal engineering teams to ensure that what we promise customers is technically sound and realistically deliverable. This role sits within Domin’s Mechanical Design team, meaning you stay connected to real engineering while applying that expertise to real customer problems. You will also contribute application insight back into our technology teams, helping Domin continuously improve how our products are used in the field. This role is ideal for engineers who are curious about how systems truly work, enjoy solving complex application problems, and want to see their technical judgement directly influence the success of customers and the growth of Domin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical engagement in sales opportunities
- Lead mechanical and system-level technical discussions with customer engineering teams to understand system requirements, constraints, and performance objectives.
- Develop technically credible application solutions using Domin’s products.
- Work with the Sales team to translate technical solutions into viable commercial proposals, including technical responses to RFQs where mechanical understanding of the application is required.
- Application definition and solution development
- Analyse customer applications to determine suitability of Domin’s off-the-shelf products.
- Identify where product modification, engineering work, or system changes may be required.
- Propose integration approaches covering performance, installation, and mechanical system considerations.
- Bridging sales and engineering
- Translate customer requirements into clear engineering scope when development work is required to secure a deal.
- Ensure technical commitments made during the sales process are realistic and understood by the Technology teams.
- Customer technical support
- Provide rapid and effective technical support for customer questions related to integration, operation, or performance.
- Support customers during evaluation, prototyping, and early deployment phases.
- Mechanical team contribution
- Remain aligned with the Mechanical Design team and contribute to capability development within the discipline.
- Support product improvement, application knowledge development, and technology exploration when not engaged on active sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Approximately 3–7 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and ability to reason from first principles.
- Demonstrated ability to solve real engineering problems and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to both engineers and non-engineers.
- Confidence participating in technical discussions with external stakeholders and willingness to grow into leading them.
- High levels of personal ownership, curiosity, and motivation to learn new technologies and applications.
- Ability to work across engineering and commercial teams to achieve outcomes.
- Alignment with Domin’s culture of action, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Beneficial Requirements:
- Experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or customer-facing engineering roles.
- Experience with hydraulic, electromechanical, or motion control systems.
- Experience supporting RFQs or technical proposals.
- Experience integrating components into larger mechanical systems.
- Experience working in high-performance engineering sectors such as automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.
