We’re looking for a senior Verification & Validation engineer who is an effective leader and is motivated to continually raise their standards. With a growth mindset, a calm determination to overcome technical challenges, and a genuine desire to build robust, well-engineered solutions, while helping shape the next generation of products and engineers.
The Validation and Verification team plays a central role in Domin’s engineering process, sitting at the intersection of mechanical design, prototyping, manufacturing, electronics, and firmware. In addition to assembling prototype products for the first time, the team works closely with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure system requirements are clearly understood and translated into effective validation and verification strategies. By operating advanced metrology and product testing capability, the team generates high-quality experimental evidence that closes the loop between design intent and real-world hardware behaviour, ensuring product performance and customer requirements are confidently met.
As a Senior V&V Engineer, you will act as a technical authority on product validation, leading the verification and validation of complex electro-hydraulic systems from component level through to full product performance. You will define validation strategies and acceptance criteria, ensure traceability from requirements through to test evidence, and analyse test data to provide clear, evidence-based insight that drives design decisions and ensures customer requirements are met.
The role requires a combination of strong first-principles engineering, technical leadership, and clear communication. You will lead investigations into performance shortfalls or failures, identify root causes, and work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented. Through this, you will play a key role in delivering robust, high-performance products and in shaping how Domin validates and releases world-leading motion control products.
If you’re an ambitious engineer who thrives on pushing the limits of technology and wants to make a real impact with a fast-growing company, this is your chance. Join us and be a key player in revolutionising motion control.
Key Responsibilities:- Defining validation and verification strategies, including test plans, acceptance criteria, and traceability from requirements through to test evidence.
- Leading validation and verification activities at the component, sub-system, and whole product level, ensuring that product compliance is reported to key internal stakeholders.
- Driving product improvements through deep technical analysis, engineering judgement, and the creation and utilisation of digital tools, using test evidence to inform design decisions.
- Inspecting, measuring and assembling high precision electro-hydraulic devices.
- Leading failure investigations and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Designing test equipment and supporting components including hydraulic test rigs, fixtures and gauges.
- Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, ensuring our validation standards, tools and processes remain at the forefront of technology.
- At least 5 years’ relevant industrial experience in a technical engineering role, preferably with complex mechanical or hydraulic systems.
- Experience defining validation and verification strategies, including test plans and acceptance criteria against customer or internal requirements.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
- Ability to devise and conduct test procedures, observe physical effects and analyse data to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Able to work individually and lead validation as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and to solve problems inside and outside your area of expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders and customers.
- Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, servo valve technology, hydraulic systems, and associated design standards or testing methodologies.
- Experience working to industry standards or regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO, SAE, aerospace, marine or automotive requirements), or in the hydraulics, automotive, aerospace or related industries.
- Experience working with electronics, software and/or controls, and electro-mechanical systems (e.g. sensors, actuators, motors, power electronics, control hardware).
- Understanding of metallurgy, material science and/or stress calculations.
- Understanding of metrology techniques.
- Comfortable working hands-on with hand, power and machine tools.
- High level of digital literacy with the ability to understand programming logic and use software solutions to their full potential.
- Experience producing 3D CAD, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
