We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take ownership of electronics design and delivery across complex, high-performance products. In this role, you will lead the development of electronic systems from concept through to production, owning the design and delivery of PCBAs and electrical architectures within your projects. You will make critical technical decisions, ensure designs meet demanding performance and reliability requirements, and hold a high bar for engineering quality. You will work in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, partnering with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated products. Alongside hands‑on design work, you will review and sign off the work of other engineers, helping raise standards and ensuring consistent quality across the team. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, makes sound decisions under uncertainty, and is motivated by delivering real, working hardware in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery of electronics for assigned projects, including PCBAs and cabling designs
- Define and implement electronics architectures aligned to system‑level requirements and constraints
- Act as technical authority for electronics within projects, owning and justifying key design decisions
- Review and sign off electronics designs from other engineers, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance
- Take designs from concept through schematic, layout, prototyping, verification, and production release
- Work closely with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful system integration
- Lead electronics‑related interactions with suppliers and support transition from prototype to volume production
- Define and implement robust test and validation strategies to ensure product reliability and compliance
- Contribute to improving electronics design processes, standards, and tools within the team
- Develop future talent by coaching and supporting junior engineers, helping them grow their technical and professional skills
Requirements:
- Significant industry experience in electronics design (typically 10+ years), with clear evidence of owning hardware through to production
- Proven ability to take technical ownership of electronics within complex projects and be accountable for delivery and quality
- Strong expertise in mixed‑signal electronics design, including circuit design, simulation, and hands‑on validation
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout using industry‑standard ECAD tools
- Strong practical laboratory skills, including bring‑up, debugging, testing, and root cause analysis
- Experience reviewing and signing off designs, maintaining high technical standards across a team
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under uncertainty and manage design risk effectively
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams and with external stakeholders
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline
Beneficial Requirements:
- Experience with EMC design, testing, and compliance in demanding environments
- System‑level design experience, including integration with mechanical and control systems
- Cabling and interconnect design experience in production‑ready products
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g. automotive, aerospace), including familiarity with standards such as ISO 26262
- Strong understanding of DFM and DFT principles and experience supporting transition to volume production
- Experience with tools such as Altium Designer and lifecycle management platforms (e.g. Altium 365)
- Experience designing for harsh or hazardous environments (e.g. ATEX)
- Programming experience (e.g. C++, Python) to support testing, automation, or embedded development
