We are seeking a highly skilled and driven professional to join our team creating next generation motion control products. Domin have developed world-leading technology, and we are combining our expertise in high-speed servo valves with high power-density pumps and accumulation to create industry-changing digital systems and unlock value for our customers like never before.

The successful candidate will join our validation and verification team, which together is responsible for the assembly, test and validation of prototypes against customer and internal requirements. You will develop a broad and deep knowledge base to work effectively with complex systems, be empowered to create novel solutions, and leverage real-time data acquisition and analysis from industry-leading test rigs and software tools to ensure our products achieve their game-changing aims robustly and repeatably.

You will take ownership of product validation tasks, designing innovative test methods with rigour and analysing test data using deep technical understanding to produce meaningful insights that help deliver our ambitious goals. You will lead the assembly and delivery of new products to our customers, supported by our high talented Technology and Manufacturing teams. Previous validation and verification experience is beneficial but not required. We are looking for engineers with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and the potential to grow into technical leadership roles. Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining validation and verification strategies, including test plans, acceptance criteria, and traceability from requirements through to test evidence.
  • Carrying out, and reporting validation and verification activities at the component, sub-system, and whole product level.
  • Own and continuously improve the customer return investigation process, ensuring timely root cause identification, clear communication of findings, and effective feedback into product and design improvements.
  • Driving product improvements through deep technical analysis, engineering judgement, and the creation and utilisation of digital tools, using test evidence to inform design decisions.
  • Inspecting, measuring and assembling high precision electrohydraulic devices.
  • Building an in-depth understanding of the function and operating principles of hydraulic components including our core servo valve and pump technologies.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, ensuring our tools and processes remain at the forefront of technology.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a technical mechanical engineering role, preferably with complex mechanical or hydraulic systems.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
  • A strong approach to engineering from first principles to find novel solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to devise and conduct test procedures, observe physical effects and analyse data to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Aptitude for mechanical work with hand, power and machine tools.
  • Experience interpreting 3D CAD, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • High level of digital literacy with the ability to understand programming logic and use software solutions to their full potential.
  • Foundational experience in both mechanical and electrical or electro-mechanical systems (e.g. sensors, actuators, motors, power electronics, control hardware).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and both internal and external stakeholders.

Beneficial Requirements:

  • Experience in the hydraulics, automotive, aerospace or related industries.
  • Experience producing 3D CAD, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, servo valve technology, hydraulic systems, and associated design standards or testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with electronics, software and/or controls.
  • Understanding of metallurgy, material science and/or stress calculations.
