We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Talent Manager to join our Talent & Leadership team here at Domestic & General. Join our Talent & Leadership team and play a key role in delivering our ambitious Talent Management agenda across D&G. This role will lead the evolution of our approach to identifying, developing and retaining talent - building an inclusive, high-performing culture that supports our strategic business goals, with a focus on internal talent development, succession, and progression rather than TA/recruitment activity. Blending thought leadership with hands‑on delivery, they will design and implement a range of talent initiatives from concept through to execution and evaluation. They will work in close partnership with senior stakeholders to embed best‑in‑class talent practices and contribute to the wider People Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and deliver the Group Talent strategy, working closely with the HR Director, Talent & Leadership to execute the Talent Roadmap (2026-28+) aligned to business priorities
- Lead end-to-end Talent Management processes, including onboarding, development planning, succession, talent identification, pooling, and offboarding
- Own and evolve the Workday Talent framework, driving design, optimisation, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Identify and manage critical roles and talent risks, including succession planning, single point of failure mitigation, and workforce insights
- Lead Group-wide talent pools and enable local talent strategies in partnership with HRBPs
- Facilitate talent reviews, career planning and talent forums, ensuring strong governance and inclusive decision‑making
- Drive talent development and mobility initiatives, including career pathways, leadership development, and internal mobility programmes
- Build leadership and HR capability in talent management, embedding best practice and maximising business impact
- Integrate DEI into talent strategy, ensuring inclusive talent identification, development and progression
- Lead early careers initiatives in partnership with Talent Acquisition and Leadership Development.
- Provide insight and thought leadership, using external trends and benchmarks to inform continuous improvement
- Manage external partners and delivery infrastructure, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective talent solutions
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven delivery of end-to-end Talent Management strategies in complex, matrixed organisations, covering succession, development, and workforce planning
- Ability to influence, challenge and partner senior stakeholders, driving impactful talent decisions at senior leadership level
- Hands‑on expertise with Workday Talent module including design, optimisation, and data‑led insights
- Experience leading talent reviews, governance forums, and career frameworks that enable progression and organisational effectiveness
- Track record in designing and implementing talent and leadership development initiatives, including early careers and mobility programmes
- Capability to identify and mitigate critical talent risks, including succession gaps and single points of failure
- Strong focus on embedding DEI within talent strategies to support inclusive progression and diverse pipelines
- Skilled in using data, external insights, and thought leadership to shape talent strategy and continuous improvement
- Experience managing external partners and delivering scalable talent solutions aligned to business needs
