We have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Senior Risk Manager – Business Partner Tech, Data & Products to join our growing organisation. In this role you will be the driver of D&G’s technology, data and product innovation, have a key role in how D&G identifies, assesses and governs technology, data and product risk, work in the 2nd line, Group Risk team, supporting to guide the first line business stakeholders on their approach to data and technology risk across its IT infrastructure, AI, cloud and emerging technologies and product risk during the product lifecycle and advise business stakeholders across all levels of the business on control effectiveness, provide independent challenge and oversight and highlight risks in decision making associated with digitalisation, data and products as well as opportunities, in the ways in which it can take risks in these areas. They will also be a key business partner in these areas and develop strong relationships across the Group to be a ‘Go to’ risk business partner for tech, data and products and work in collaboration with associated business areas and other 2nd and 3rd line function to engage effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Challenge, support and work with 1st Line teams on risk identification, assessment, and control adequacy related to digital and tech processes and data and products.
- Be a key point of contact for the business and effectively engage with the 1st line as a Risk Business Partner.
- Work with the first line and collate / coordinate updates with the 1st line on their risk profiles for aligned reporting on tech, data and product risk report as part of Group Risk Reporting.
- Support, challenge and guide first line on tech, data and product RCSA process.
- Act as Group Risk Representative on any business projects and initiatives in the areas of tech, data and products where the representative should challenge and advise as a Risk Business Partner to the business.
- Attend associated working groups and committees in these areas as needed.
- Partner with first line on the operational risk events process in these areas, guide, train and raise awareness as needed and guide the first line to report and rectify with robust actions to strengthen the control environment, as required.
- Support enhancements to D&G’s Tech, Data and Product Risk Control Framework by identifying and embedding key controls across the area life cycle.
- Monitor implementation of risk controls across business units and functions, gathering feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and prepare reports and presentations for governance forums as part of group risk reporting.
- Stay on top of regulatory and wider updates in the areas of responsibility and engage with the wider Group Risk team and all lines of business on the evolving landscapes and potential impact to the business.
Skills And Experience Required
- Experience partnering with Technology, Data or Product teams and understanding how digital solutions and platforms are developed and operated.
- Good expertise in technology, data and product risk, with the ability to understand technical concepts and provide effective challenge.
- Ability to lead end‑to‑end risk reviews, including assessing design, controls and areas for improvement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a regulated insurance or financial services environment.
- Familiarity with risk frameworks such as risk appetite, RCSA, issues and actions, control testing and change risk governance.
- Understanding of secure system design and delivery practices (e.g., SDLC, cloud, DevOps/DevSecOps) and product lifecycle processes.
- Ability to analyse technical information and risk indicators to identify trends and emerging risks.
- A proactive, solution‑focused approach to embedding strong risk management across delivery teams.
