With an inclusive, people‑first culture recognised by Great Place to Work and the Inclusive Employers Standard, we're now looking for a standout Solution Architect to shape the future of our technology landscape.
Your Impact
You’ll define how Domestic & General adopts modern platforms, cloud services, data analytics, automation, and AI - all while safeguarding customer trust, sensitive data, and operational resilience across the UK, US, Europe, and Australia. You’ll influence investment decisions, guide solution design, and strike the right balance between security, cost, usability, and speed to market.
What You’ll Lead
- Security Architecture & Design
- Establish and evolve enterprise security principles, standards, and reference architectures.
- Provide architectural oversight and assurance for new platforms and major change initiatives.
- Embed security requirements early in solution design, vendor selection, and procurement.
- Platform, Cloud & Data Security
- Deliver expert security guidance across applications, cloud platforms, SaaS, data environments, and integrations.
- Define approved patterns for IAM, encryption, key management, logging, monitoring, and resilience.
- Champion least privilege, zero trust, and secure‑by‑default design aligned to enterprise risk appetite.
- Emerging Technology & AI
- Shape secure architectures for automation, advanced analytics, and AI‑enabled capabilities.
- Identify and manage risks around data usage, model lifecycle, access control, explainability, resilience, and misuse.
- Partner with Data, Technology, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure responsible, compliant adoption of AI and emerging tech.
- Governance, Risk & Assurance
- Lead threat modelling and architectural risk assessments for complex, high‑risk solutions.
- Ensure alignment with internal policies and recognised security frameworks.
- Support audits, assurance activities, and regulatory obligations with clear, structured documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to Technology, Product, Data, and Delivery teams.
- Translate complex security concepts into clear, business‑focused guidance.
- Balance security, customer experience, delivery timelines, and commercial outcomes through pragmatic, risk‑based decisions.
What You Bring
You’ll bring deep expertise in security architecture and enterprise technology within financial services or insurance. You’ll have hands‑on mastery across cloud services, SaaS, data platforms, integrations, and emerging AI capabilities. Most importantly, you’ll thrive in ambiguous, evolving environments where trade‑offs are real, solutions aren’t prescriptive, and your judgement truly matters.
