At Domestic & General, keeping customer information accurate and secure is essential. As a Data Handling Adviser, you’ll play a vital role in the first stage of resolving customer profile merge issues, ensuring data integrity and safeguarding the business from potential data protection risks. This team acts as the frontline control within the merge workstream, working to prevent serious data-related issues that could impact customers, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. You’ll investigate and correct merge errors, collaborate with internal teams like IT, and help maintain clean, reliable data that supports colleagues across Service, Complaints, and Client teams.
About You
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using FlySpeed, AS400, and Genio (training available)
- Previous experience in data operations, customer service, or technical support is desirable
- Confidence speaking to customers to clarify data issues
The Role
- Ticket Management: Work through merge tickets in ServiceNow in priority order; give priority to tickets linked to complaints to support timely resolution
- Data Investigation and Correction: Review and interpret ticket details to understand the merge issue; use systems such as FlySpeed, AS400, and Genio to unmerge customer profiles; ensure appliances, service records, and addresses are accurately aligned; handle complex cases such as landlord accounts with 100+ appliances
- Customer Contact: Contact customers when needed to verify appliance ownership or clarify data discrepancies; gather accurate information to support correct data placement
- Ticket Documentation: Record actions and updates clearly in ServiceNow; pass completed tickets to the Merge Support Team for further processing
