About the role
Supporting the MI Development Manager, the Senior MI Development Analyst role will be responsible for the production & maintenance of operational reporting. The role holder will scope and develop BI solutions to support the stakeholders to understand the “What” and “Why” in operational performance. The Analysts’ role is to be curious, willing to learn and able to work with others to bring data to life to change our business. You’ll be applying your attention to detail and ability to interrogate complex data to create dashboards and visualisations that monitor performance and drive action. You’ll be driven and keen to hit the ground running. In return, you’ll have a chance to work with some excellent people who want to help you develop and you’ll have the chance to build your knowledge across a range of business domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop MI and BI solutions that are intuitive and help users to understand complex data quickly
- Working with Operational Partners to gather requirements and define KPIs to unlock value from data
- Working within the team to rationalise and redevelop our existing reporting suite as we migrate our reporting to Databricks
- Through insightful BI dashboards, help stakeholders understand the “why” behind performance metrics and drive action.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and relevance across reporting platforms.
- Cleanse and transform raw data to ensure quality and usability and to create a single source of truth
- Ensure queries and dashboards are optimised for user performance
- Validate data accuracy and maintain documentation for BI processes.
Knowledge and Expertise

- Understanding of how to approach a problem analytically and visualise data in a meaningful way
- Able to communicate honestly and openly, both written and verbal
- Strong technical background in MI/reporting development, including advanced SQL (or R/Python) and experience with BI tools such as Power BI.
- Understanding of data architecture, relational databases, and reporting optimisation techniques.
