We have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Senior Risk Manager to join our organisation. They will be working as part of the Group Risk Team to closely collaborate with business stakeholders, first line risk champions and all lines of defence, embed robust enterprise risk management practices, play a key role as part of the Group Risk Team to create a positive risk culture across the business and get involved in the day‑to‑day risk activities including risk identification and trend analysis, risk assessment, supporting the business on operating risks events and issues and collation of reporting for risk and associated governance forums.
They will also lead the business to ensure groupwise risk policies and processes are applied and embedded, lead risk assessments as part of the RCSA process and contribute to emerging risks, lead the team and the business to implement and embed the operational risk events process, and work as part of the Group Risk Team to collate and produce risk reporting for presentation at governance forums.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify, assess and report on risks, opportunities and control effectiveness, ensuring group risk management processes are consistently embedded across the function.
- Support day-to-day risk management activities including managing the RCSA process, tracking and analysing operational risk events, monitoring risk appetite and KRIs, preparing risk reporting and coordinating risk packs for forums and committees.
- Provide coordination, interpretation and guidance on group risk policies, ensuring the business understands and applies them appropriately.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to promote effective risk management and ensure key issues are understood and acted upon.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong background in operational risk management, ideally within the insurance sector.
- Good understanding of risk frameworks, governance structures and control environments.
- Experience in risk assurance and control testing, with the ability to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, able to build effective working relationships.
- Strong analytical abilities with a structured, problem‑solving mindset.
- A collaborative team player who shows initiative and takes ownership.
