As part of our ongoing growth within the Risk & Compliance team, we’re pleased to announce an excellent opportunity for a Group Financial Risk Manager to join us. In this role, they will lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group’s Financial Risk Management framework, ensuring the effective identification, assessment, mitigation, governance, and reporting of financial risks across the organisation. They will also play a key role in supporting our enterprise-wide approach to financial risk management—including Solvency requirements—ensuring the Group’s solvency, liquidity, and capital risk exposures are well understood, well managed, and aligned to our strategic ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the execution and continuous improvement of the Group’s Financial Risk Management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Oversee processes for identifying, assessing, and prioritising financial risks, including credit, liquidity, market, and capital adequacy risks.
- Ensure robust governance structures for financial risk management, including regular engagement with key risk owners and senior stakeholders.
- Lead the preparation of financial risk reports and dashboards for DGLG and the Board, highlighting emerging risks and mitigation strategies. This also includes support on Solvency reporting (SFCR, RSR, ORSA for UK and EU).
- Refine and maintain policies, methodologies, and tools for financial risk measurement and monitoring.
- Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of adverse conditions on financial resilience.
- Support regulatory submissions and maintain effective relationships with external auditors and regulators on financial risk matters.
- Drive initiatives to enhance risk analytics, reporting quality, and automation of financial risk processes.
- Working in partnership with Finance to support Solvency II risk requirements (SFCR, RSR, ORSA) including the risk contribution to the ORSA, recovery planning, stress and scenario testing, and capital optimisation.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong understanding of financial risk principles, including credit, liquidity, and market risk.
- Experience in implementing risk frameworks within a regulated environment ideally within general insurance sector, (including the implementation and delivery of Solvency requirements).
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, with proficiency in risk modelling and stress testing.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Ability to translate complex financial risk insights into clear, concise reporting for senior leadership and Board committees.
- Proven track record of enhancing risk processes, including automation and improvements to reporting quality.
- Strong judgement and decision‑making skills, with the ability to balance regulatory expectations, business priorities, and financial resilience.
