THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Business Development Associate Director / Director to grow our client base across Europe, with a particular focus on the Nordics, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity to represent a scientifically differentiated organisation in some of Europe's most dynamic and fast-growing life sciences markets. You will own the full sales cycle, from identifying and engaging prospective clients to closing new contracts, working closely with Domainex's UK-based scientific and operational teams to deliver compelling, tailored proposals. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the European life sciences sector, with priority focus on the Nordics, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium
- Build and leverage an established network of contacts across biotechnology, pharma and academic institutions in your target markets
- Engage confidently with scientific decision-makers, articulating the full range and value of Domainex's drug discovery services
- Manage the complete sales cycle from initial introduction through to contract close
- Collaborate closely with UK-based scientific colleagues to scope, develop and present winning proposals
- Represent Domainex at relevant European conferences, industry events and client meetings
- Travel regularly within Europe, with occasional visits to Domainex's UK headquarters
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A strong scientific background, with a degree (Bachelor's level or above) in a biology discipline — biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or related field
- Experience in a business development or sales role, preferably within the provision of scientific or drug discovery services with a minimum of five years' experience
- A solid understanding of new medicines discovery, with appreciation of biology disciplines
- An established network of connections across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors in Europe, particularly in the Nordics, Spain, Switzerland and/or Belgium
- A confident, entrepreneurial self-starter who can work independently to identify and progress opportunities across a portfolio of accounts
- A completer-finisher mentality who is driven to open doors, influence decision-makers, and close deals
- Willingness to collaborate with UK-based colleagues and travel regularly within Europe
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a distinct advantage
